How did life evolve on Earth
On early earth was No oxygen Volcanoes oceans no life
Spontaneous generation is life suddenly appears from nonliving things.
Miller and Urey What did they do? they mixed gases and water together and zapped it with an electrode.
What did they find from their experiment? This did not produce life BUT it did produce some of the Organic molecules like amino acid and nucleic acids that are necessary for life.

Early life theory
The Early life theory says that.... 1. macromolecules organized into protocells 2. Protocells become prokaryotes which are hetrotrophs eats and anaerobic no oxygen.
3.Prokaryotes are running out of food so they become photosynthesizing auto trophs. 4.Autotrophs make oxygen which in turn builds the ozone layer
5. This ozone allows for other more complicated organisms to evolve

Charles Darwin and Natural selection
Natural selection is... survival of the fittest but really it is that the organism who has the favorable trait can reproduce and pass on its genes and traits.
Survival of the fittest means..... it is the organism who has favorable traits.
Charles Darwin did..... He first came up with the idea that perhaps species change through time and came from one common ancestor .

Evidence of Evolution
Evolution is..... the process by which different kinds of living organisms are thought to have developed and diversified from earlier forms during the history of the earth.
The three evidences are....Some types of evidence, such as fossils and similarities between related living organisms, were used by Darwin to develop his theory of natural selection, and are still used today. Others, such as DNA testing, were not available in Darwin's time, but are used by scientists today to learn more about evolution.
Anatomical evidence shows.....Transcript of Anatomical Evidence for Evolution. Examples of Embryology: Morphology. Definition: A branch of biology dealing with the study of the form and structure of organisms and their specific structural features.
Biochemical Similarities show.... The study of the structure and interactions of the complex organic molecules found in living systems.

Immunity and resistance
The important cells of the immune system are.....T cells, B cells, Memory b cells, Vaccine, antibiotic, active immunity.
Active immunity is......You make antibodies this is immunity or resistance that a person has because they have actually had the disease.
Passive immunity is.....this is when you are immune from a virus that you never actually had mothers can pass this on to their children when they breastfeed them or you can be given the antibodies.
In antibiotic and pesticide resistance the population that is living after being exposed to an antibiotic or pesticide is the....(resistant or susceptible population) the Antibiotic all are going to die but one will survive and reproduce so resistance.
Speciation
Speciation is.... when the two can no longer mate they are now two different species and this creation of a new species is called speciation
Geographic isolation is when....sometimes a part of a species is separated from the rest of the group either by a highway mountains ocean or any other physical barrier.
Reproductive isolation is.....This will result in them being so different that even if they were to come back together again they could not mate.

Phylogenetic Tree
A phylogenetic tree shows... A diagram showing branching of organisms from a common ancestor.
The ancestor is at the...Bottom
The closer they are together...on the map the closer related they are.
The farther away...You are the least related.

Classification
The first classification system was developed by...Aristotle but it had a few problems
The modern day classification system was developed by....Carolus Linnaeus at first there were two kingdoms Animals and plants then five and now 6.
The organisms were classified by their.....Body structure and on many different characteristics.
The 8 kingdoms are... Species, Genus, family, Order, Class, Phylum,Kingdom
The classification system changes because of....improvements in our technology.

Dichotomous Keys
A Dichotomous keys.... this is like scavenger hunt to find out the scientific name of an organisms.
To use a dichotomous key you have to....Start at number i and then use the clue to figure out what number to go to next. Keep going till you get to a name.
